Antique French Floral Fabric Pillow & Thank You

Hello all, I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer.
 Although it's won't officially be summer until Friday, my son is done with
school so that always signals the start of summer for us.

My son had a wonderful promotion ceremony last week through our home
schooling program and I am so proud that we actually made it through our
first year of home schooling. Although I am truly happy that
I decided to take my son out of
public school this year and teach him at home,
I've already register him for his old school come the fall.
This may change by the time summer ends,
but I wanted to have a choice.

Anyway, I wanted to show you all the pillow that I just made
out of some early 19th antique floral fabric from France.
The fabric is so beautiful and the texture and color is amazing.

I lined the back of it with linen that I got from Jo Ann's and I think it turned out lovely.

I also had enough to make a small lavender pillow.

Isn't the texture of the fabric gorgeous? It looks like linen but it's cotton.

Pink Lovelies

Happy Memorial Day everyone!! I know many of you are out enjoying the beautiful sunshine and time with friends and family. I had a little time this morning before our family get together to clean up around the house.

I woke up this morning and found that my peonies were beginning to fade as their delicate petals fell into heaps on the table below.

I thought they looked just beautiful so I gathered their soft petals & grabbed the camera to take some photos of their fading beauty.

 

I also decided to take out my lovely eiderdown quilt from the cupboard and add it to my bed. I'm usually not a pink person, but this quilt is so special to me and I wanted to be able to enjoy it. It was a gift from my husband on our 5th wedding anniversary, and in August we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary, my how time flies!!

The wonderful vintage grey door was a gift from my dearest friend. I absolutely love it!! Thank you so much sweet Kate!!
